The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.
CQ CQ CQ!
Calling all E1488 CERT HAM Radio operators to participate in the Montgomery County Amateur Radio Emergency Service Community Liaison Net.
This a weekly net for the E1488 CERT and The Woodlands CERT HAMS on Wednesdays at 20:00 (8PM). The net should only last 20-30 mins. The net control operator will give instructions on how to check-in to the net.
If you do not yet have a radio, or, have not yet been on the air, I encourage you to team up with another HAM so that you can get comfortable with operating.
We will be using the repeater at 442.175. It has a positive offset (+5Mhz) and a CTCSS tone of 103.5Hz.
Thanks,
K5DLQ - Darryl
